It's sods law.  You conduct a neutering session and have cats already selected as to which colonies are going to be neutered. Sadly some cats you are hoping will walk into the trap cage, don't.  This is what happened with this pregnant girl.  Prior to neutering, she was no-where to be seen.  But once neutering had been finished, she appeared.   She was pregnant, but I wasn't sure how close to giving birth she was.  One particular morning when she was eating heartily with a few cats, she didn't need trapping, as it was easy enough to grab her by the scruff of her neck and put her into a cage.  She was taken to the vet, hoping that the vet would neuter her immediately.  But this didn't happen.  Instead, the next morning when the vet opened his practice and wanted to neuter this girl, she had given birth to 3 little babies.  Sadly the vets response was to just dump her with her babies where we found her.  What?  By the bins?  This would have definitely resulted in the babies being binned alive.  It couldn't happen. Instead she was taken to an old house in the field, where we call in every day, she was put into a large cage and this was her temporary home, until she had finished feeding her babies.  Much later, she went to be neutered.  Once neutered, because she was extremely wild, she was put back to her colony.

Her babies were brought home, where they continued to make super progress.  She had two boys and one little girl.  They were called CHARLIE, ELLIOT and EMILY.  They grew and had little friends to play with, they were such a delight.  But even though you rescue and you fall in love with them, homes had to be found for them.  I was lucky as they were wanted in the UK.  So as time went by, they were prepared for travel.  They each had their vacinations, chips and rabies and all this was put into their passports. I had a mammoth task in trying to sort out road transport for them.  In an ideal world, it is far easier and more suitable to find flying partners from Athens and then fly Athens - Brussels/Paris.  Then onwards by road to the UK, which completes their travel in one day.  But finding flying partners is hugely difficult, as is finding road transport from either Brussels/Paris.  So on this occasion, they went by road.  The main thing is that all 3 settled nicely and are loved immensley by their new adopted families.
